'Expressions of Life' - Oil Painting Series

'Expressions of Life' Series depicts human beings in different circumstances and mood stages. I establish visual and emotional unity and interaction between human beings, flora, and fauna. Merging people and nature is a repeating leitmotif in my pictures, it echoes biblical Garden of Eden where people are dissolved in nature.

I depict emotional response of my characters to surroundings in exaggerated, affected way. Unnaturally long, distorted figures, strong contrast of colors and pulsating light help me create visual tension and drama. Long, narrow canvases squish the figures in tight space creating anxiety and suspense in composition. Rigorous brushstrokes and use of pallet knife add visual dynamic to my creations.
